DESCRIPTION:Mythos in the Western Healing Tradition\nwith Jeanne Bresciani \nWednesday\, September 23\n6:00PM Virtual Program\nFree for Members\nHosted by Suzanne Roff\nProtection\, prevention\, and healing are never so relevant as they are today.  In the inspiring Zoom-cast\, Jeanne Bresciani\, Ph.D.\, Artistic Director\, Isadora Duncan International Institute\, will share her knowledge on healing agencies and instincts available\, yet overlooked.  Her research stems from Native American\, Medieval European and Ancient Greek legacies. \nThis visual presentation is a journey punctuated by three breathful\, subtle movement interludes for brief\, participatory interaction\, seated or standing\, so that a modicum of wisdom from these traditions will directly address body\, mind and spirit as recognizable inherent forces. \nFrom a cultural historian’s point of view\, you will have the opportunity to learn and bear witness to the mythic\, imaginal and natural backdrop of illness and the concomitant healing capacity deeply within the human ken. Hailed by the press as “the divine in motion” for her lifelong dedication to the body of myth\, Bresciani is former Faculty at NYU and Founding Chair of the Committee for the Reinstatement of the Delphic Games allied with Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies. She has presented at Lincoln Center\, The British Museum\, The Olympic Games and archaeological sites\, palaces\, stages and universities globally. Her influence includes the development of the first accredited Duncan training programs in the US\, Asia and Europe and the revivification of great Western festivals including the Delphic Games of Greece; and in Italy within the ongoing development of Carnevale di Venezia and the Serenissima Circle\, a philanthropic group of like-minded individuals devoted to the preservation of the cultural treasury found within the incomparable city.  Jeanne is in frequent artistic and scholarly residency internationally and is recipient of The “Tenth Muse” Golden Award 2016 granted by the Universal Delphic Union and the Honorable Panos J. Kaltsis.

DESCRIPTION:Certificate Program I in Isadora Duncan Studies\nIsadora Primordia: On Origins\nTuesday\, August 4th to Friday\, August 7th\, 2020\nHeld live via Zoom with Jeanne Bresciani\, Ph.D. \nHonoring ‘Isadora Explorer’ specific elements in Isadora technique\, class studies\, choreographies and improvisational methods will trace the primordial background to her ‘style transcendent’. As in a natural history of art\, uncovering ‘living laws within the living body’\, reservoirs of her knowledge and experience will be delved to discover sources\, symbols and meanings empowering her lasting legacy.  From material realms earthed and sublimed we shall return elemental inspiration and dynamic imperative to ourselves and to her dance in inspirational renderings grounded in principles ancient\, eternal and universal. Upon registration\, students will receive via email a link for scheduling private supervision and time slots will be available following workshop sessions. \nThe Certificate Program I is a professional training program leading to the Certificate in Isadora Duncan Studies and to the development of new Duncan programs internationally. The purpose of Program I is to train individuals intensively and professionally for the teaching and performance of the Duncan work. Three aspects of study and practice are emphasized: the aesthetic in the June week\, the philosophical in the August week and the pedagogical in the February week. Each aspect is approached experientially through physical embodiment. DESCRIPTION:The Delphic Preview\nFestival of the Muses\n \nThe Delphic Preview: Festival of the Muses celebrates contemporary re-imaginings of Greek culture as they pertain to the ancient and eternal tradition of the Festival of the Delphic Games. The online event invites the global community to engage with ancient Greek art\, music\, dance\, poetry\, song\, myth\, sport and theater in modern iterations through live-streamed performances and discussions\, and through the Garden of the Muses\, a collection of videos\, audio recordings\, and scholarly articles. \nThe Festival is presented by Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies in collaboration with the Isadora Duncan International Institute\, the Ecumenical Delphic Union\, and the Committee for the Reinstatement of the Delphic Games.
